– Rosters expanded to 28 members Friday, and the Mets made a handful of moves. New York called up RHP Jose Butto, INF Ronny Mauricio and 3B Brett Baty from Triple-A Syracuse while optioning INF Danny Mendick down.
– Mauricio is batting ninth and starting at second base. In 116 games with Triple-A Syracuse this season, he slashed .292/.346/.506 with 23 home runs and 71 RBI. Mauricio rounded out his production with 76 runs, 30 doubles and 24 steals.
– New York continues a nine-game homestand after going 2-4 against the Los Angeles Angels (1-2) and Texas Rangers (1-2). Upon completing the Mariners set, the Mets are off on Labor Day Monday and begin a five-game road trip against the Washington Nationals (two games) and Minnesota Twins (three games).

RHP Logan Gilbert, who is 12-5 with a 3.66 ERA and 1.05 WHIP in 26 starts this season.
He allowed one run on two hits (one homer) while striking out seven and walking one in seven innings of his latest start, this past Saturday’s 15-2 win over the Kansas City Royals.
