    In the Battle of Alberta, Leon Draisaitl secured a hat trick and tallied an assist to post four points. Even with this impressive performance, the Oilers could not come out victorious.

    Edmonton’s goaltending issues came to light, as Calgary scored a whopping nine goals over the course of this game. Mikko Koskinen was Edmonton’s starter. He allowed five goals on 12 shots during an ice time of 25:06. Mike Smith entered the game in relief and allowed an additional four goals on 26 shots.

    For the Flames, there were three different players who had two-goal nights. Mikael Backlund, Matthew Tkachuk and Elias Lindholm. The Calgary offense posted a dynamic performance that helped them secure a dominant win over the Oilers.

    NEW YORK 3 BOSTON 6

    Craig Smith opened scoring 4:03 into the first period. His goal was assisted by Brandon Carlo and Charlie Coyle.

    Taylor Hall put the Bruins up 2-0 with a power play goal scored 19:26 into the first. His goal was assisted by Charlie McAvoy and Brad Marchand.

    Brock Nelson got the Islanders on the board with just over ten seconds remaining in the opening period. Zdeno Chara and Anders Lee earned assists on the score.

    David Pastrnak notched a goal 2:13 into the second. His goal was assisted by Erik Haula and Taylor Hall.

    Brad Marchand put Boston up 4-1 just over a minute later. Patrice Bergeron tallied the sole helper on Marchand’s goal.

    Anders Lee scored a power play goal 5:12 into the second to set the score at 4-2. His goal was assisted by Jean-Gabriel Pageau and Noah Dobson.

    Erik Haula found the back of the net 14:33 into the second. David Pastrnak and Taylor Hall notched helpers on this score.

    Jake DeBrusk lit the lamp with under two minutes remaining in the second. His goal was assisted by Brad Marchand and Charlie McAvoy.

    Zach Parise secured a power play goal in the third to conclude the scoring in this game. His goal was assisted by Anthony Beauvillier and Kyle Palmieri.

    For Tampa Bay Brian Elliott allowed just one goal on 27 shots for a save percentage of .963

    For the Red Wings, Alex Nedeljkovic made 34 saves on 36 shots to end his night with a save percentage of .944.

    CHICAGO 4 VEGAS 5 OT

    Chicago started this game off by scoring three consecutive goals. Dominik Kubalik scored in the first and his goal was assisted by Jake McCabe and Jonathan Toews. Then Jonathan Toews got on the scoreboard himself. His goal was assisted by Alex DeBrincat. Dylan Strome scored late in the second to set the score at 3-0. Caleb Jones and Patrick Kane tallied assists on this goal.

    Then in the third, Vegas scored three consecutive goals. Chandler Stephenson scored 1:24 into the period. His goal was assisted by Evgenii Dadonov. William Karlsson scored just under a minute later. Dylan Coghlan and Jonathan Marchessault tallied helpers on this goal. Jack Eichel tied the game up 3-3 3:16 into the third. His goal was assisted by Chandler Stephenson and Shea Theodore.

    Alex DeBrincat helped the Blackhawks regain their lead with a goal scored 8:53 into the final period. His goal was assisted by Patrick Kane and Seth Jones.

    However, under a minute later Alex Pietrangelo tied the game up 4-4. His goal was assisted by Nicolas Roy and Mattias Janmark.

    In overtime, Evgenii Dadonov sealed the victory for Vegas. His goal was assisted by Nicolas Roy and Jonathan Marchessault.

    For Chicago, Kevin Lankinen made 29 saves on 34 shots for a save percentage of .853.

    In the Vegas crease was Logan Thompson. He made 30 saves on 34 shots and exited this game with a save percentage of .882.

    TORONTO 2 MONTREAL 4

    Auston Matthews opened scoring just over 30 seconds after puck drop. His goal was assisted by Michael Bunting and Mitch Marner.

    David Savard tied the game up 1-1 9:44 into the second. Laurent Dauphin and Nick Suzuki earned helpers on the score.

    Cole Caufield gave Montreal a 2-1 lead with a power play goal. His goal was scored 18:08 into the second and was assisted by Chris Wideman and Nick Suzuki.

    William Nylander tied the game up with a power play goal scored 7:33 into the third. His goal was assisted by John Tavares and Mitch Marner.

    Paul Byron notched the game-winner 17:32 into the final period. His goal was unassisted.

    Christian Dvorak concluded scoring with an empty-netter. This final goal was assisted by Paul Byron and David Savard.

    For Toronto, Erik Kallgren had a tough showing. He allowed three goals on just 17 shots and posted a save percentage of .824.

    For the Canadiens, Jake Allen made an impressive 49 saves on 51 shots to end his game with a save percentage of .961.

    FLORIDA 4 OTTAWA 3 SO

    Alex Formenton was the first player on the scoreboard in this game. He scored 7:54 into the first. His goal was assisted by Michael Del Zotto.

    Artem Zub put the Senators up 2-0 with a goal scored 15:26 into the first. His goal was assisted by Josh Norris and Drake Batherson.

    6:47 into the second, Dylan Gambrell increase Ottawa’s lead to 3-0. Tyler Ennis earned the sole assist on this score.

    Anthony Duclair finally got the Panthers on the board with a power play goal, scored 8:55 into the second. Claude Giroux and Sam Reinhart tallied helpers on this goal.

    Patric Hornqvist brought Florida within one just over a minute later. His goal was assisted by Gustav Forsling and Noel Acciari.

    Late in the third, Aleksander Barkov tied the game up. His goal was assisted by Jonathan Huberdeau and Claude Giroux. This goal forced the game to go to additional minutes and the Panthers would eventually go on to secure the victory during shootout.

    Tom Wilson tied the game up 1-1 2:47 into the second. His goal was assisted by Conor Sheary and John Carlson.

    Damon Severson helped the Devils regain their lead 7:17 into the second. Ryan Graves and Jesper Boqvist earned assists on the score.

    Connor McMichael tied the game up 2-2 just over two minutes into the third. His goal was assisted by Justin Schultz and John Carlson.

    Nicklas Backstrom helped the Capitals get their first lead of this matchup 6:56 into the third. Anthony Mantha earned the sole assist on Backstrom’s goal.

    Alex Ovechkin scored a power play goal 11:48 into the third to set the score at 4-2. His goal was assisted by Evgeny Kuznetsov and Nicklas Backstrom.

    Both Andrei Svechnikov and Seth Jarvis found the back of the net twice in this outing. The other Carolina goals came courtesy of Nino Niederreiter, Brett Pesce and Martin Necas. Ian Cole, Jesper Fast and Teuvo Teravainen all tallied two assists each for the Hurricanes. Vincent Trocheck, Sebastian Aho, Brett Pesce, Jaccob Slavin, Tony DeAngelo, Jesperi Kotkaniemi, and Martin Necas all picked up one helper in this contest.

Ryan Nugent-Hopkins also had a four-point night, as he scored once and picked up three assists. The only other Edmonton goal in this game came courtesy of Derick Brassard. Duncan Keith, Zach Hyman, Zack Kassian, and Evan Bouchard all picked up an assist each. Connor McDavid had two helpers on the night.
