It was a busy week in the NHL with the passing of the trade deadline on Monday. The Atlantic Division got so much tougher to get out of as all four teams, Florida, Toronto, Boston and Tampa Bay all made major moves while in the Metropolitan, the Rangers and Penguins also upgraded their lineup.

Out West, the Avalanche look so good but of course, anything can happen. The Wild improved in net and on the blueline while Calgary made their big move five weeks ago in obtaining Tyler Toffoli from Montreal.

It should be a wild Stanley Cup playoff, especially in the first round in the East.

    WEEK OF MARCH 28-APRIL 3

4 Games – Anaheim, Arizona, Buffalo, Carolina, Chicago, Dallas, Edmonton, Florida, Los Angeles, Minnesota, New York Islanders, New York Rangers, Seattle, St. Louis

    2 Games – Nashville, Washington

Dallas plays all four games on the road.

    Notes

The Jets play three games in four nights this week…Connor Hellebuyck should see the crease twice with Eric Comrie playing once…The Jets made a great trade with the Rangers, giving up Andrew Copp and a 2023 sixth-round pick and picking up prospect Morgan Barron, two conditional second-round picks with the 2022 pick becoming a first rounder if the Rangers make it to the Eastern Conference final and Copp plays in at least 50 percent of the Rangers playoff games, and a fifth-rounder in 2023…They picked up Zach Sanford from Ottawa for a 2022 fifth-round pick and obtained Markus Phillips from the Kings for Nelson Nogier…They also traded Nathan Smith who was not going to sign with the Jets, as well as the contract of Bryan Little to Arizona for a 2022 fourth-round pick…Kyle Connor has been on fire and has a nine-game scoring streak with seven goals and 17 points, giving him 40 goals and 80 points this season, good for a tie for fifth in NHL scoring…Kristian Reichel signed a two-year/two-way contract extension with the Jets.
