In their first matchup in December 2018 in Los Angeles, Wilder and Fury fought to a contentious split draw. Fury then dominated Wilder in the rematch in February 2020 and walked away as champion after Wilder’s trainer threw in the towel in the seventh round to protect his fighter from the beatdown he was taking. Wilder responded by firing said trainer and making various conspiracy-laden excuses for his poor performance.
The two men weighed in on Friday with both coming in at the heaviest of their careers. Wilder, who held the WBC heavyweight title from January 2015 until losing it in the rematch with Fury, came in at 238. Fury came in at 277, which is a pound higher than he weighed for his fight against Sefer Seferi in June of 2018.
Both fighters have vowed to deliver mayhem upon each other Saturday with Fury predicting a first-round knockout and Wilder claiming he’s in a “violent state of mind” and that he’s ready for war.
Fury is currently a -250 favorite at BetMGM with Wilder at +225.
