A win in Warsaw and England are basically through to a seventh straight World Cup – let’s face it they’re going to qualify for Qatar 2022 regardless of the result against Poland.

England are doing as England usually do and that’s enjoy a walkover in qualification. For all of the faults of the team and managers in recent times the Three Lions are just masters of making the big tournaments these days.

The result doesn’t seem in much doubt according to the bookmakers, and England have a brilliant record against Poland but it’ll be tougher than some expect.

For the purposes of our daily column though, it’s to the stats markets we head and there’s plenty to get your teeth into mainly based on England having the majority of the ball and firing in plenty of shots.

They had 10 shots with four on target in the last game against Poland and this time the likes of Mason Mount, Raheem Sterling and Harry Kane will be popular in Bet Builders for shots on target.

All three of those to hit the target though still comes out at shorter odds than the focus of our bet, and it’s England’s other Harry – Man Utd defender Maguire – who looks a bit overpriced at 23/10 to have a shot on target against Poland.

Maguire’s actually scored in his last two World Cup qualifiers – against Hungary last week and against Poland back in March – and he’s a regular in the shots on target column for his country.

Overall he’s got three goals from 14 shots in his last nine England games, with shots on target landing in six out of those nine.

When you look at those stats, and then see he’s the same price as Tyrone Mings to have a shot on target, then you can see it’s a bet worth taking on.

Maguire has become England’s chief menace in the air from set pieces and if you look at the stats from his last five games you can see he’s had 10 shots and five on target – with ALL of them coming via that famously large head of his.

To add that extra bit of meat on the bone, Maguire to have a headed shot on target in Warsaw is a 9/2 chance thanks to an OddsBoost on the Sportsbook – and judging by his recent run then we’re taking the plunge on him using his head again.
