We’re speeding to North Africa in search of goals, and Kev expects relegation rivals to put on a show.
Moroccan mayhem on the horizon
Khouribga v Olympic Safi
Tuesday 18 February, 16:00
A no-no with Chievo last night, as their 2-0 win over Salernitana nixed our BTTS bet. Sunderland legend Emmanuele Giaccherini did his bit with a brace, but the visitors drew a blank for the first time since November. Grazie, guys.
We move on to Morocco’s Botola Pro, because Khouribga are up against Olympic Safi, and I think the market is underestimating the level of potential excitement.
Both teams are battling relegation. Khouribga have only picked up three wins in their 15 matches, and they have leaked 21 goals in the process. Their home form fluctuates wildly – in the last six league games at the brilliantly-named Stade du Phosphate they have been beaten 4-1 and 4-0, won a game 4-1 and also had a 2-2 draw. Four of their last six home matches have featured at least four goals.
The last time Olympic Safi made the trip to face Khouribga, back in April, they played out an extraordinary 4-4 draw. There has certainly been plenty of entertainment in their recent matches – three of the last four overall have featured at least three goals, and both teams have scored in their last three away games.
I’m tempted to back Over 2.5 Goals at [2.72] but I’ll be a touch more conservative and back Both Teams To Score at [2.22]. Regarding BTTS, it has paid out in nine of Olympic Safi’s 15 league games this term, and eight of Khouribga’s.
